Andrew Rolfe’s Inspiration through the Ubuntu Education Fund

Ubuntu Education Fund gala dinner raised 10 million South African Rand in their recent campaign. The chairman, Andrew Rolfe has been on the forefront in channeling the money to the aid of disadvantaged groups in the communities, downtrodden children, health initiatives, and scholarships of bright yet unable students. The Ubuntu Education Fund has been able to support up to 0.4 million African children. The statistics are real in Africa where childhood education, preventive health measures, and career development has been in jeopardy. Ubuntu Education Fund recently launched an initiative to give prominence to water, HIV and early childhood nutrition.

Real life success stories under the program

The story of Sinesipho Rabidyani indicates the role Ubuntu Education Fund has played in the lives of people’s education. She faced hardship, torture, and hunger during her childhood. The chances of pursuing an education were dim, and the goals of the girl child were long buried. Raised by an abusive and alcoholic father denied her the opportunity to start school early. Ubuntu took charge of her education and granted her full scholarship. She is currently pursuing a degree in Law courtesy of the Andrew Rolfe Ubuntu Education Fund.

Rabidyani is currently involved in the mentoring and inspirational works of the Fund, drawing strength from her predicaments to motivate other children. The situation is not very different for many other communities in Africa. It shows the extent that other players are willing to collaborate with Ubuntu to make these initiatives more successful in the long run.
