Tony Petrello, the CEO of Nabors Industries, is an embodiment of resilience and hard work. Tony beat the odds of growing up in a modest family. For example, he attended poorly funded public schools. However, in the face of the challenges, Tony triumphed.
As a young scholar, Tony developed an unusual liking for mathematics. It is reported that Tony grasped the concepts of differential calculus at a tender age and his mastery of mathematics rivaled the prowess exhibited by trained physicists or logicians. His passion for math was rewarded on his 18th birthday when he was awarded a full scholarship by Yale University following an impressive performance in linear algebra and calculus.
When he finally joined Yale, Tony’s passion (in math) became stronger. His ability to manipulate numbers awed his fellow students and his lecturers in equal measure. It was not long before Tony’s abilities got the attention of the mathematical theorist Serge Lang. Lang and Tony worked on a couple of scholarly math concepts including Lang’s number theory. Everyone who knew Tony on campus including those in Newark (an Italian neighborhood where Tony was raised) thought that he was destined to be a modern mathematician; they were all wrong as Tony Petrello changed his mind about math. He left Yale for Harvard Law School. In Harvard, Tony pursued his newfound passion with the zeal that he had exhibited for mathematics.
After over 20 years of studies, it was time to join the corporate world. Again, people who knew him expected that he would end up in a regular job. However, Tony is an ambitious person with a desire to reach the pinnacle of success. After working with different firms, Tony landed a job at Nabors Industries. For over 30 years Tony worked for the oil drilling company slowly rising through the ranks and finally, he became the CEO of the company.
Tony is one of the best business executives in America. Under his stewardship, Nabors Industries became known as the largest land drilling company in the world. The company which focuses on oil, natural gas, and geothermal drilling employs over 100, 000 personnel in America and the world. Tony is at the forefront of continually creating new jobs while ensuring that all the people who work under him receive competitive remuneration. Tony is passionate about fair pay, and he believes that individuals like him should consider their workers instead of concentrating all the funds to themselves.
