Robert Ivy Receives High Honor

The leader of the American Institute of Architects, Robert Ivy has been making his presence felt in the architect world for quite some time. His work was recently honored with a very high award. Ivy received the the Polk Noel Lifetime Achievement Award. The annual award is given by the the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. They award is given for outstanding achievement in art either performing, creating or supporting art. Ivy is the very first architect to receive the award. He is one of only a few people from Mississippi to ever receive the award. Others on that list include writer Eudora Welty and actor Morgan Freeman.

Robert Ivy has worked hard over the years to build and impressive resume. He has been given high praise by many in the architect world. MIAL President Nancy LaForge was quoted as saying she has seen no one in the business who has had the impact on architecture and the general public. Ivy has served as the Chief Executive Officer of AIA since 2011. He is also an author, commentator and a practicing architect. He has studied at Tulane University. He is considered by many to be an ambassador for the profession.

Under Robert Ivy and his leadership, Architectural Record earned a number of awards. The company received Society of Magazine. This prestigious award was giveclick Heren for excellence in the field over his career. Additionally the Robert Ivy and the company has received a slew of other awards including 26 Jesse H. Neal Awards, and recognition for having the best website of the year. Ivy is also recognized as Master Architect. This honor is given by the fraternity Alpha Rho Chi. He is one of only seven people to ever receive the award including Cass Gilbert, Eliel Saarinen and John Wellborn Root.
